What is Healthy?

This is a great question. The answer... depends on who you ask. Unfortunately there is no real cut and dry answer, but I am not going to leave you hanging. Lets navigate through this question together.
Being healthy is not so objective, contrary to what you may see in the food and fitness industries. There is a wealth of information floating around telling consumers what is good for them, so it is easy to see how our vision of health has become muddled.
Personal health is relative because it is just that, personal. What is "healthy" for one person is not necessarily "healthy" for another.
For some, being healthy means staying committed to a paleo diet and hitting the gym at least four times a week. While others simply view health as being disease and/or pain free.
Neither view is more right than the other. So lets look at some things that are a little more measurable:
1. How do you feel?
2. Does your body function well?
These are two simple questions anyone can use to evaluate their health. I believe how you feel mentally/physically and optimal body function have a direct correlation to overall health.
I encourage everyone to answer those two questions for themselves. There may need to be a change in your life if you find that you are constantly tired or mentally foggy or maybe you have nagging stomach issues.
I realize there is unavoidable sickness and disease. However, I believe we can all work towards an optimal health and well-being, and at the very least maintain current health.
We have been given one body to last us a lifetime, so lets be good stewards of that gift. I will be discussing many more topics soon and diving into deeper aspects of personal health, so stay tuned!
